The City amplified : Justin Bennett
Bennett, Justin, 1964-
Published on the occasion of the presentation of the Ouborg Award 2009 to Justin Bennett, a sound artist who uses everyday sounds of the city: muffled shouting behind closed doors, the gurgle of water underground and the sounds of the air-ventilation systems from underground parking garages.; This publication, realized as part of the prize, uses a wide-ranging collection of works by Bennett – drawings, photographs, texts – and compiles them into an almost three meter long, dos-a-dos, fold-out leporello that documents the artist at work.; Back cover is inverted and detachable and consists of folded leaf of color illustrations with title: BMB Con #11.
