"This book has narrative images developed for the story 'Plummeting Old Women' that is in the book 'Incidences' by Daniil Kharms. Daniil Kharms was incarcerated at Leningrad Prison No. 1 in the psychiatric ward and starved to death in his cell during the siege of Leningrad. I perceived the tragic story as a reflection of Daniil Kaharms' background. Therefore, the illustrations were created based on the photographs taken during the Siege of Leningrad, expressing the repeated violence and hopelessness of society in the 'Plummeting Old Women.'"--Artist's description.
