Vile magazine was published between 1974 and 1983 by the mail artists Anna Banana and Bill Gaglione. The inside contents featured an array of works from mail artists in different countries, texts and manifestos, letters, performance documentation, and articles on individual artists and their projects.; "VILE magazine Volume 1 No. 4, the “dada literary edition,” features the controversial cover shot by photographer Jimmy De Sana depicting a naked & erect, hanged man. Contributions from Genesis P. Orridge, Ray Johnson, the Geurilla Art Action Group.
