RA 1.170 (Restricted Access)
Boltanski, Christian, 1944-
A box containing the reprinted images of photographs of what each one the students from the Lycée Francais de Chicago had selected as their 'favorite object'. These include children's toys, games, books, school supplies, garments, and electronic devices, as well as more unusual choices like stones or license plates. The box is the result of a collaboration between the artist and the School over the course of several months, that included class discussions and textual and visual interpretations of the chosen objects, in order to bring out the relevance of past memories to the present day experience of artist, students, and audience. Library holds number 66 in an edition of 264.
