RA 2.537 (Restricted Access)
Strang, Susannah Kite
"The book memorializes the sled dogs used by Ernest Shackleton's Endurance expedition to the South Pole. The dogs' names are hand-inked on a translucent accordion fold in a layout that recalls the arrangement of sled dogs in harness. The relief-printed mittens on the covers suggest human agency and invoke sentimentalized images of prayer and protection."-- From artist's acquisition statement.; Housed in plastic sleeve.; Library has no. 2 out of 4.
