Katz, Leandro, 1938-
"The photographs and photo arrangements of Leandro Katz's Historia Natural were made between 1972 and 1979 and involve an aggressive re-orientation of space and time that complicates the authority of the "nature photograph" while poking fun at the idea of art as living organism. Nineteen works, many of which are accompanied by details, are presented as crisp black and white images with captions. With an essay by Luis Pérez-Oramas, printed in Spanish and English."-from the publisher. Translated by David Jacobson. Printed in an edition of 500 copies. Text in Spanish and English.
