Quadratic Studies is an LP and optical score by Michael Milano, produced for Threewalls' Community Supported Art (CSA) program in an edition of 40. The work includes one clear plexi 10" record, one risograph printed grid (26 x 26 cm.), and one original ink drawing on vellum graph paper (31 x 23 cm). An insert (22 x 14 cm.) reads "Given a set of coordinates, let's work out every possible quadrilateral…there are 2401 of them, and they make 49 drawings, each with a set of 49 permutations…now let's translate those relationships into another medium…the four points are now four notes of a chord, and the drawings are now a sound piece…now we can see and hear those relations, spatially and temporally respectively."
