Doppelgänger

This book explores the dual lives of three office workers (a civil servant, a stockbroker, and a woman manager) by day and their nightlife personalities (a goth clubber, a gay skinhead, and a punk). The book features photographs of office buildings at night, as well as cut out portraits of the doppelgängers, always showing their daytime selves on the verso pages and their nightlife personas on the recto. Objects that exemplify their daytime occupations are also contrasted with personal adornments for nightlife. Each page is accompanied by a text from the doppelgänger being profiled. From the publisher's website: "The brief texts consist of a commentary, in their own words, on the marked contrast between the two personae. The book's intention is to show how each of them are, in effect, two different people at the same time."
