Movement from hieroglyphic to contemporary letter
Museum. On exactitude in science
Lee, Ki Jung
This book takes the form of a game in which the reader must decode a series of 13 hieroglyphic tablets with the assistance of keys. What unfolds is a story of an empire whose map was as large as the country itself, based on the fictional character of Suárez Miranda in a short story by Jorge Luis Borges, "On Exactitude in Science." From the artist: "The work shows the collapse of the hieroglyphic as language moved to the English letter, melding cryptography and cartography, as well as the science of geography."
