Dita Pepe self-portraits 1999-2014
Pepe, Dita, 1973-
Photobook of self portraits by the artist, often with others, as an exploration into identity and belonging and a study in self-searching. Presented as a series of fairly innocuous family portraits, the audience experiences the uneasy realisation that every image, be it a family, a couple, a sister, a mother, or a daughter always includes the same woman, Dita. She photographs herself, either alone in various guises, or with friends and acquaintances, in an attempt to find female ideals that inspire her.--from publisher's website. Text in English and Czech. Features an introduction by curator Lukáš Bártl. Edition of 500.
