SURP WHIR ALC MAX PULL | SUCK WHINE ALL MIX PIT
S.W.A.M.P. is housed in a foldable sleeve with handmade paper sash. The book itself combines a kettle-stitch format with fold-out pages featuring poetry. In between, other pages feature rubbings to create visual continuity. The artist states that, "This book was an investigation into associative printing, in which each new image was created from some element (or combined elements ) of previous images… S.W.A.M.P. contains four stanzas, but… the words were broken apart into their sound components, rearranged, and coerced into a compartmental palimpsest of language and utterance." The book's title comes from the fact that swamp is unstable ground, and approaching it is difficult. The structure and layout of S.W.A.M.P. strive to mirror these difficulties. Insert is signed and numbered by artist. The collection has copy 15 of 25.
