/sylvania and other fragile histories includes excerpts from four of the larger projects I’ve worked on while in grad school along with short essays that describe the piece, the process, and various choices that have been made. The short collection of poems in Target Blackout question the connection between consumerism and happiness. Girlstown explores Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood and the state of lesbian community. The excerpt of Ashes, Ashes tells the story of a rust belt Pennsylvania town the summer an arsonist burns down the abandoned houses. And On Silence meditates on quiet spaces, intimacy, awe, and nature. This collection of projects is meant to stand as an encapsulation of the work I’ve done at SAIC.

A short burst of comics, graphics, and text to keep our memory sharp about political events we tend to forget.
